This Puppy Purchase Agreement sets out the terms agreed between Scott Family Pets Breeding (“Seller”) and the purchaser identified above (“Buyer”) regarding the purchase and transfer of the puppy described in this agreement.

 

Our goal is to provide clear information and ensure that both the buyer and the seller understand their responsibilities before the puppy joins its new home.

 

  1. Purchase Price and Payment Terms

 

The total purchase price of the puppy is     $__________.

 

A reservation deposit of $__________ is required to reserve the puppy for the Buyer. The deposit will be applied toward the total purchase price.

 

The remaining balance of $__________ must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule and must be fully settled before or at the time of the puppy's collection or delivery, as agreed in writing by both parties.

  2. Seller's Responsibilities

The Seller will provide the Buyer with accurate information known about the puppy and will answer reasonable questions regarding the puppy's care, development, and transition to its new home.

 

   3. Buyer's Responsibilities

 

The Buyer agrees to provide the puppy with a safe, caring, and suitable home.

 

The Buyer agrees to:

 

* Provide appropriate food, water, shelter, exercise, and daily care

* Arrange appropriate veterinary care and follow recommended vaccination schedules

* Provide regular veterinary examinations as needed

* Provide appropriate training and socialization

* Comply with applicable local animal-welfare and ownership requirements

* Treat the puppy as a companion animal and provide humane care throughout its life

 

The Buyer understands that owning a puppy is a long-term responsibility and agrees to make reasonable preparations before bringing the puppy home.

 

  4. Spay/Neuter and Breeding Terms

 

The puppy is sold as:

  5. Health and Veterinary Care

 

The Buyer understands that puppies require ongoing veterinary care after leaving the Seller's care.

 

The Buyer agrees to arrange a veterinary examination after taking possession of the puppy and to follow appropriate veterinary recommendations.

 

Any specific health guarantee offered by the Seller should be provided in a separate written section or document, including its duration, coverage, exclusions, and the procedure for making a claim.

  6. Rehoming and Return Policy

 

If the Buyer is unable to continue caring for the puppy at any time, the Buyer agrees to contact Scott Family Pets Breeding before transferring ownership to another person whenever reasonably possible.

 

The Seller will discuss appropriate options with the Buyer, which may include return, assistance with responsible rehoming, or another mutually agreed arrangement.

 

The welfare and safety of the puppy should remain the primary consideration.

 

Any return, refund, or rehoming terms should be agreed upon in writing and should comply with applicable law.

 

  7. Transfer of Ownership

 

Ownership and responsibility for the puppy will transfer to the Buyer when the purchase has been completed and the puppy has been released to the Buyer or the Buyer's authorized representative, unless otherwise stated in writing.

 

From the time of transfer, the Buyer assumes responsibility for the puppy's ongoing care, veterinary needs, licensing requirements, and compliance with applicable laws.

 

   8. Agreement and Acknowledgment

 

By signing below, both parties confirm that they have read and understood this agreement and have had the opportunity to ask questions about its terms.
